We had to wait at least five to 10 hours before trying another treatment."
Dr Smith said the study was part of a larger study that had participants using Viagra to help them achieve an erection and a firmer erection.
"It was also part of the study in the US, so it was not just a question of finding which medication will help. It was about finding who has the most potential for this," she said.
She said the researchers also did the same for women, including some who were using a patch to help them get an erection.
The results also showed that men who had used sildenafil to treat erectile dysfunction had a higher incidence of side effects, such as headaches, back pain, and nasal congestion.
In the new study, the researchers compared the side effect profiles of the two medications.
The study found that erectile dysfunction is not caused by a condition, but rather by the presence of another condition, such as diabetes or heart disease.
